Diaspora Uganda Nurses and Midwives Society (DUNMS) is a community interest organization dedicated to improving health care professionals training needs. Founded by a Diaspora Ugandan nurse, our mission is to harness the skills, expertise, and resources of the diaspora community to support healthcare system enhancement and development. Through partnerships, advocacy, and community-driven initiatives, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of health care professionals, the people accessing care, particularly in rural and underserved communities and career advancement opportunities through training and research.
Our Services
At DUNMS, we are dedicated to improving nurses and midwives’ professions in Uganda through various initiatives. We outsource and provide medical supplies, equipment, and expertise to healthcare facilities in less advantaged communities.
Our members, comprising Ugandan nurses and midwives living abroad, also participate in medical missions, training, research, and mentorship programs to enhance the skills of local healthcare professionals. Additionally, we advocate for policies and programs that promote healthcare access, equity, and quality in Uganda.
DUNMS provides career guidance, mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to support the growth and advancement of health care providers.
Diaspora Uganda Nurses and Midwives Society (DUNMS) empowers Ugandan nurses and midwives to take leadership roles, advocate for their profession, and improve their careers.
